KEYNOTE SPEAKER - Ashley Ellis-Milan

Speaker Bio

Ashley Ellis-Milan

Ashley Ellis-Milan is entering her 3rd year as the Head Varsity Coach for East Girls Basketball.  She’s enjoyed building relationships with her student athletes, connecting with key stakeholders in the community and helping empower young women. Ashley is thankful for the fantastic coaching staff she has and the time they have committed in helping build a successful
basketball program, and the role in helping develop student athletes.

She’s no stranger to St. Paul, having graduated from St. Paul Central where she was the St. Paul Athena Award winner in 2005. During her time at Central she competed in volleyball, basketball and track. Her basketball team earned 4 straight conference titles as well a trip to the state tournament her senior year, finishing in 3rd place. Individually she earned multiple All Conference honors, was the leading scorer in basketball during 2003 and 2005 seasons and remains in the top 10 for career points scored in the St. Paul City Conference.

Ellis-Milan went on to play for the Golden Gophers putting up 20 career double-doubles and finishing as the program’s fifth leading rebounder with 860 in her accomplished career. A team captain and MVP, Ellis-Millan started in 117 consecutive games, the second most in team history. She was a two-time All-Big Ten selection.

Ashley graduated from the University of Minnesota with a B.S. in Education and went on to earn her M.A in Educational Leadership at Concordia University in St. Paul. She had the opportunity to play professionally in Germany and Greece and also did a stint with the Minnesota Lynx.

Ellis Milan currently works for the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Lynx, managing the Youth Basketball Development Department. She enjoys working and integrating business, education and basketball and has learned an immense amount of knowledge over the years.

“I have a passion for education and athletics, I wouldn’t be here without those key things.  Graduating from St. Paul Central in 2005, I enjoy the deeply rooted pride within communities, the people that support our youth and the dedication it takes from teachers, staff and parents to create an inclusive environment.”
